We
believe in a philosophy of life long learning. As
that relates to our alpaca business, we are
continually reading books, attending workshops,
classes and seminars.
You can gain valuable information by attending the
seminars offered at most alpaca shows as well as
those offered elsewhere. There is an Alpaca Breeders
Fiber School which offers classes on a host of
subjects. Many farms offer day-long workshops you
can participate in. The Alpacanation website is a
good place to look for a schedule of upcoming alpaca
events including shows and seminars.
There are a number of books available about the care
of alpacas. This list is by no means exhaustive, but
just a suggested start.
The Alpaca Field Manual by Norm Evans
Caring for Llamas and Alpacas, a Health Management
Guide by Clare Hoffman and Ingrid Asmus
Llama and Alpaca Neonatal Care by B. Smith, K. Timm
