Crescent Moon Farm came into being in 2003. Having a strong desire
to farm, we bought a sorely run down former dairy farm. Having much time
and energy and not a lot of money, we threw ourselves into restoring the
property (yes, we still have a long way to go. . .).
After getting our 1820 farm
house habitable, we set about to get a roof on one of our barns. It’s just
enough to keep the alpaca’s hay, feed and supplies dry along with our tractor.
Then we built a shelter for the pacas and put up some fencing.
More about us
Evan and Kristen both feel strongly about the following:
buying local
growing and eating organic
supporting small farms
supporting sustainable agriculture
using and wearing natural fibers
Still more about us
Evan is a high school science teacher and a
planetarium director. He is an avid outdoorsman and astronomer. Kristen works in marketing as
a writer. She also cooks, quilts and studies herbalism. We both garden and read
voraciously. (Proof that there is life after television.)
